Week One, Travel Questions

So this month is about travel, which is perfect since I'm getting ready to go to Florida to see Nanine, Jason, and Katie (who I haven't seen in years). The assignment is to write about past trips and also gives some sample questions to get the writing flowing.

1. Do you travel a lot for business or are you pretty much a once a year vacation traveler?

This question is pretty funny. It would be nice if I could go on vacation once a year, but I plan to change that. I would like to take vacations as much as possible in the future.

2. This question is N/A to me so I'm going to skip it...

3. If you mostly travel only on vacation, would you like to travel more? If so what has stopped you?

I would love to travel once a week if I could (although then it wouldn't mean as much would it). I really want to see more places in this world. I think what has stopped Tim and I from traveling more is the financial difficulties we have had in the past. I think we should before getting pregnant, concentrate more of our money towards traveling then little stupid things like games.

4. Do you like to stay in your relative geographical area or do you like to venture far from home?
I want to be the person who has no fears going to other countries, but that is something I need to tackle. Tim and I have a dream to fly to Ireland and explore as much of Europe as possible. If I am honest with myself though I do get a little anxious being far from home.

5. Please make a list of two or three successful trips you've taken. Think for a few minutes what made these travels so special. What were the reasons behind the ones you selected?

The problem with this is again ....limited travels hehe. I can write some of the more recent travels though. First and foremost is the most fun vacation I have ever had...New Orleans! Tim and I went with some friends in celebration of Nanine's birthday. We had a blast even on a budget. I think it was mostly fun because it was with a group of good friends. The only downside to this trip was my great grandmother's passing. We were scheduled to stay another day, but Tim and I decided to cut it short. Next trip I can think of was San Antonio. We went with another couple Aron and Katie (who have broken up since). This was an ok trip. I don't think any of us had enough money to do a whole lot while we were there. Also with the exception of Aron we were all underage and couldn't go to any bars. I would of liked to do more on this trip, but hey it was cool taking advantage of driving the Top Gun truck (a really cool truck that belonged to the company Tim, Aron, and I worked at).

6. (I'm rewording this question a tad) Looking at each of those vacations, do they translate into things you can repeat?

I think from here on out I will learn from the mistakes of past trips. You can't really predict when a family member is going to die, but I probably wont go if someone is in the hospital not looking good. Also I think its a good thing to not only afford getting to your destination, but also be able to afford things to do there.

This part is more blog type then from the book.

I just want to say how excited I am to go to Florida. It has been quite awhile since Tim and I have gone anywhere for more than a day. It is a little more difficult to travel when you have a dog, 2 cats, and 3 sugar gliders. I am really looking forwarded to not only seeing some great friends, but going to some awesome places like the Disney attraction "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter". I know how nerdy right? Seriously though it seems like so much fun. I have never been to Disney World, Disney Land, or Disney anything. So even if I'm going as a 24 year old I'm still going to love it. I also want to do some adventure type things (adventure to me is not the same as adventure to everyone else) like kayaking. I want to play with dolphins, and maybe take a mini cruise. I may be getting ahead of myself. I'm just so happy to be getting away from everything for awhile. Tim and I have needed a break from our day to day life for awhile now. It's nice that its actually going to happen instead of being a dream we talk about and never do. I cant say enough how excited I am. Ok I'm going to go read more of this book now. Hopefully I post again soon. If however I don't I probably fell into my habit of starting and stopping a project. Wish me luck!
